Procedures for Residence in Japan

In order to enter Japan with the purpose of studying from foreign countries, it is needed to get "Visa". To get a visa, in principle, "proxy" living in Japan applies for "Certificate of Eligibility for a Status of Residence" at Immigration Bureau on behalf of you.
When certified, the "Certificate of Eligibility for a Status of Residence" will be sent to the proxy, and then, he/she will send the certificate to you. When you submit this certificate to your Japanese Embassy or consulate abroad, you can receive a visa within a short time.

@A proxy must meet one of the following conditions:

    EProfessor or staff of the organization which admits your entrance
    EStaff of the organization which provides you with the scholarship, or the organization which supplies your academic or living expenses
    EThe person who supplies your academic or living expenses
    EYour relative living in Japan
